Google Wants Your Website To Be Mobile Responsive
In this technology revolution period, every year Google comes with many algorithm changes- sometimes quite big ones. Google has started to roll-out of Google panda in 2011, in which a change expected to impact up to 40% of mobile searches and it was the search engine’s most impactful change till now.
According to a post on the official Google web master central blog, Google’s changes are based on the idea that “users should get the most relevant and timely results, no matter if the information lives on mobile friendly web pages or apps”
Most of us have known for a long time that people everywhere are increasingly accessing the internet on a range of devices. There are good chances that one will be using a tablet or a smart phone instead of using a traditional desktop or laptop computer.
With more and more visitors accessing your website on mobile devices, it is important to make sure that all of your visitors have a positive experience; regardless of what type of device they are using to get there.
In this era, those who are lacking Google optimized or mobile optimized properties, would eventually loose out to connect with consumers who increasingly search for, compare, purchase, review or recommend products and services using a tablet or smart phones.
Google’s panda update in 2011, towards website’s mobile version and importance of the factor- mobile friendliness means that fails to render an easy to navigate experience on mobile, may loose their top placement in Google’s search results.
Smart phones and tablets are affecting each and every industry, as consumers adopt more mobile devices, and search engine’s result for mobile web page is becoming more important year after year.
For example, a hotel, who does not have mobile friendly or mobile responsive web page, or if they are providing a poor user experience, it is likely to be rated down than the other ones which are mobile responsive.
Why it is important for HOTELIERS?
This update is very important for hoteliers, especially in today’s technological revolution period of time. Year after year hoteliers are looking to drive revenue online, because mobile bookings are increasing on very fast pace. It is an indication that travel consumers are finding it more comfortable to book and transact via their tablets or smart phones.
